Looking back while posting this post, it seems that WestJet often holds limited-time events.

What is Status Match or SM?
Let’s learn about Status Matching (SM) , the topic of today’s post .
It is easy to understand that it is a service that matches the grades of higher tiers in the same industry or other industries.
Take hotels for example.
I am a top tier person at Hilton Hotel!! Then, it will be set to Marriott’s highest level.
Take airlines for example.
I am a certain level holder of Delta Air Lines!! Then, we will match you with the appropriate level for AA airlines (conditions apply).
This is not all.
The travel industry is largely divided into hotels, airlines, and other services (rental cars, etc.). Hotels and airlines are eternal partners.
So interchangeable?? Mutual agreement?? There is a system that adjusts grades in that way.
This is Status Match SM.

In 2019, I received a temporary SM application from WestJet. This wasn’t the first time.

Match your WestJet Silver tier to an Air Canada tier
It doesn’t end with WestJet Silver.
Another very important point is that you can be matched with Air Canada with this tier .
If you become an SM with Westjet Silver, you can apply for Air Canada 25K SM.
Seed tier is required for SM
As explained above, in order to do SM, you need a seed tier to ‘start’, whether it’s an airline or a hotel.

I started matching with the Marriott Hotel Titanium tier. For me, the Marriott hotel tier was the seed tier.
There are a lot of things you need to know about the SM of hotels and airlines, so I will post this in detail later.
There is a service called SM, so if you have a top tier hotel or airline, traveling becomes very convenient.
If you have one top tier, you can connect and match all rental car companies to the top tier.
