hello. This is Miki’s Honey, Miki Hani. I provide information about traveling to the Rocky Mountains in Canada.
Lake Louise
It is probably the most well-known tourist destination among Koreans in the Rocky Mountains.
First of all, there is also a famous piano song by Yuki Kuramoto called Lake Louise.
So the name may be familiar, but if you look at the photos, you’ll probably have seen it somewhere before. That’s how famous it is.
It is a wonderful place where the blue color of the lake, which has not melted even in the middle of summer, combined with the mountains in front and the old hotel in front of the lake create a picturesque sight.
It is a must-see for your Rocky Mountain tour. It’s a place you must stop by and take at least a picture, but it’s not easy to get there in the summer due to parking difficulties.
Parking problem
During the summer peak season, the parking lot is full by 6 a.m., so you have to wait 2-3 hours just to park and go sightseeing. So, you can go at 5 a.m. or after 4-5 p.m., but an easier way is to park at Lake Louise Ski Resort and reserve the Parks Canada shuttle. This is the best way to avoid parking problems in Lake Louise and enjoy both Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.
The parking lot at Moraine Lake is smaller, so you won’t be able to park unless you go around 5 a.m., so I recommend making a reservation for the Parks Canada shuttle.

Getting around the Lake Louise area
Expect limited parking: taking transit is the best way to visit. Parks Canada shuttles, public transit from the Town of Banff, schedules, routes & reservations
Make a reservation for the shuttle, arrive at the Lake Louise Ski Resort, and then take the shuttle to Lake Louise. After completing the tour, take the Lake Connector shuttle to Moraine Lake. From Moraine Lake, return to the ski area parking lot.
Alternatively, you can hire a guide and not park in the parking lot, but have the guide drop you off at the parking lot, wait, and then come back to pick you up.
In the winter, Lake Louise turns into a free skating rink.
Moraine lake
Although Lake Louise is a famous tourist destination for Koreans, most people say that Moraine Lake is more beautiful and nice. Maybe it’s because the viewpoint is a little high, so you can see the entire lake, and there are many mountains in front like a folding screen.
While these two lakes are so exceptionally popular that parking is difficult, many other beautiful lakes and mountains are not difficult to park at.
Except for the early peak season of July and August, you may have to wait a bit to park, but it is still crowded on the weekends, so if you avoid weekends during the off-peak season, you can drive your own car and do the sightseeing.
