If you live in Canada, you must get this credit card: Amex Bonvoy Marriott Card
hello.
This content is
People who like to travel
Those who take a long haul international flight at least once a year
Please read only if you are aiming to fly business class. But… .
I hope everyone who lives in Canada and is thinking about opening a credit card should read this.
Those of you who think ‘Cashback! is the best when it comes to credit cards~~~’ should also read this^^
ruler. Then let’s get started.
Canada is a credit card wasteland.
Compared to the United States, which has a border, it is a harsh environment with less than 5% of benefits provided.
In a desert like this… . There were two cards like Oasis. Currently ONLY ONE
Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card
1. What is the Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card?
1) This card is truly essential for Canadian residents who play mileage games.
The annual fee is $120 per year (individual card) . I am returning all of this as a gift. You can get much more back than $120.
I really hate people who cancel because they say the annual fee is not worth it ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
2) When you first sign up, you will receive a sign-up bonus of 50,000 points . (Available only once at the beginning/ Create a card for this/ Sign-up bonus varies each time)
60K Marriott points converts to 25K airline (my main focus…..) miles.
For about 25K, you can get one one-way business trip to Southeast Asia .
For example, you can take a business flight between Seoul and Kuala Lumpur, which takes approximately 6.5-7 hours. (The price is about $2,000 when a paid ticket is issued. It is a one-way ticket and is available even during peak seasons.)
A North American-Asia business trip is also possible for about 50K-60K. Well, you probably understand this without having to explain the amount when issuing a paid ticket, right?
3) The insurance covered by Amex is really awesome!!! It’s a double hit!!!!
Even if I explain it very briefly, that’s about it.
There is really no end to explaining each one.
2. Unconditionally receive it during the promotion period.
1) Get issued during the promotion period
Please just wait.
Not now.
We will notify you when a promotion appears.
2) Why is it a promotion period??
During the promotional period, there is a one-year annual fee wave or bonus point giveaway. This is also only possible when using a referrer link (referral from a friend). Whatever you get, take it anyway. It is a huge loss to get it issued when there is no promotion period.
3) Still, I want to receive it right away.
Right Now!!! Right now~~~ For those who need it now.
Report your benefits on the Great Rebate site. At least that’s a small benefit.
3. Can an individual receive a business card?
What many people don’t know is that people think that only business people can get these business cards, but even ordinary people can get them.
This is related information.
Just enter your name like this in the section where you are applying for issuance.
4. Building cards
Let’s play some mile games… Those who do .. usually have 2 cards for the first year .
General personal use (annual fee $120) + business use (annual fee $150)
If you receive two cards like this, you can receive a total sign-up bonus of over 100K.
I did nothing but get a card and paid an annual fee of $270, which is a few thousand points short of the points available for a one-way business class ticket between North America and Asia. (Gathering a few thousand points is no small task) —–> He looks like some kind of conman/medicine seller. lol
I receive a sign-up bonus and use it well for a year, but when the annual fee comes due the next year, I cancel one of the cards. From then on, you will keep one Marriott Bonvoy Amex card for life. (If you can afford it, you can keep both because you will receive a lodging voucher that exceeds the annual fee.)
5. You can only receive the sign-up bonus if you meet a certain amount of spending.
A card like this wouldn’t just give you a huge sign-up bonus just because you paid the annual fee, right?
Usually, you must fill out $1500 in spending within 3 months of receiving the card . (It’s about $500 per month)
The problem is that there are not many places in Canada that accept Amex cards . You can’t go to expensive restaurants or make eating out a part of your life to fill your spandex. I can’t just shop at Safeway, which I don’t usually use (because it’s expensive). Right?
It is completely possible to top up $1500 in 3 months, so trust me and get it issued.
Can I fill the spanding??? Just leave those worries behind~~~ Leave them alone~~~
6. Another advantage of the Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card
There is a very big advantage to this card.
1) If you are a loyal Marriott customer like me, there is a number of nights you must fill in a year.
You must meet the number of nights to maintain your tier, and only with that tier can you have many opportunities to upgrade to a suite room and receive benefits when staying at the hotel.
A significant portion of the required number of nights is provided by Amex as a card benefit (15 nights per year).
This is a truly indispensable benefit for someone like me who has to maintain a hotel tier .
So I will take this card with me for the rest of my life^^
2) Accommodation voucher that exceeds the annual fee
After receiving the card, filling out the span, receiving the sign-up bonus, and using it, the annual fee will be charged one year later. Once the annual fee is paid, you will immediately receive a free night’s stay. (Covered up to 35K points) You can usually use free stay vouchers for hotels over $300, so it’s just an unconditional benefit.
7. Disadvantages of squeezing and… .
There is a downside to this mile game.
There are many things to consider for each individual, depending on family members, travel patterns, number of airline tickets to be issued at one time, etc. It is not easy to make a reservation exactly at the time you want using mileage. (Usually, you make a reservation 350 days before the reward ticket opens.)
Moreover, airlines are undergoing continuous deterioration.
I think the Mile Game section is where this expression, ‘It’s a waste of money,’ is most appropriate.
What if I prepare it now and use it in 5 years before the kids go to school???? This may lead to continued deterioration… ..go… ..Awesome!!! You can do it too.
If you can collect it and use it right away, it’s the icing on the cake.^^
Someone like me who can leave when there is an empty seat.
People who think it doesn’t matter at all if family members depart/arrive separately. (It is quite difficult to issue multiple tickets for the same itinerary)
It’s great for patterns like this.
It’s also great to have as insurance. When paid ticket prices skyrocket, mileage seats are often surprisingly available. It’s also great to use when you’re stranded at the airport due to flight cancellation.
It really couldn’t be better than this, especially when a situation arises where you need to purchase a one-way ticket. (In this case, economy is also cost-effective.)
Above all, if you consider the difference between the cost of a paid ticket and a mileage ticket, it is quite a mouthful.
Never make a family card. Please get one for your husband and one for your wife, and receive a sign-up bonus for each.
conclusion
Just make it. ^^
In my opinion, the Amex card is the best card to get issued in Canada . The service is also really good.
If you have just settled in Canada (less than a year), we recommend that you first get an entry-level Amex card with no annual fee, build up your credit, and then switch to a Marriott card after 6 months . There are so many different cases of card approval depending on each individual’s status, so I can’t say anything statistically. If you work in Canada and have no credit issues, you can make one right away without any worries.
TMI)
Wow~~~ Even though I condensed and condensed it, it is still a long story.
I’ll say it again.
For those who are not interested in traveling or collecting mileage, this card is of no use in the world.
For those of you who want to save up mileage and get an economy ticket, I strongly recommend that you just don’t do it. Paid economy tickets are the best, but these days, economy tickets are out of this world, so I think it would be okay to aim for economy tickets.
I wrote it briefly (??) by omitting a lot of parts, so please be sure to ask questions about anything you don’t understand.
